History...
During the summer of 2009, 4-H partnered with the
Crow Wing County (CWC) Master Gardener program and the Junior Master
Gardener (JMG) program in a pilot gardening project.
Maggie Fuller, 4-H adult volunteer and CWC Extension
support staff along with Master Gardener Debbie
Monchamp have been exploring the possibility of
developing a 4-H gardening project club from the
Great Green Gardeners club that was formed during
the pilot project.

In 2010 we had 12 gardeners working in 10 raised bed boxes at the county fairgrounds. We created 2 wheel chair accessible gardens and one rotating compost barrel. We planted sweet potatoes and lettuce in straw bales and potatoes in a barrel. Our produce was donated to the Brainerd food shelf.

2011 begins with 22 members eagerly awaiting spring to begin creating their gardens at the fair grounds. Hurry spring. Hurry.
